Let’s get acquainted - Anna Verschik
I am a knitwear designer and teacher. I design knitwear in cooperation with fashion designers, for example, in 2014 and 2015 together with Mattis Meekler I took part in Tallinn Fashion Week. I have collaborated with young Estonian designers Kristiina Jeromans and Kristel Kuslapuu.
On the other hand, I work for knitters, writing patterns and teaching my methods. All my knits are seamless. All garments are designed and knitted by myself from the very beginning to the end. I have published the bilingual book “Õmblusteta kudumid/Seamless knits” (Koolibri 2013). The Finnish translation appeared in 2015 (Moreeni). I have been writing patterns for the Estonian craft magazine Käsitöö for a long time; my patterns appeared in the Finnish magazine Moda as well. I teach at Tallinn and Tartu Folk Universities rather regularly and do short courses in yarn stores and at craft events in Estonia, Finland and Lithuania.

Recently I started collaboration with the yarn producer Adele’s Mohair and its Europe affiliation Marianne’s Mohair. I design knitwear for them and write patterns.
"My personal style is rather minimalist, although I also appreciate patterns. My favourite Estonian designers are Ennos, August, Ellen Richards and Ülle Pohjanheimo."
You can also find me on Ravelry, a place for knitters, crocheters, designers, spinners, weavers and dyers to keep track of their yarn, tools, project and pattern information, and look to others for ideas and inspiration.
Book: Õmblusteta Kudumine,
Seamless knitting is easy and practical. This is a presentation of seamless constructions which enable you to design and knit well-fitting sweaters, tops, jackets, boleros, skirts and dresses. You can customize existing patterns to your body and your taste. Also, you can try on the garment as you knit. Have fun!
"Anna on oma meeskonnaga teinud hulga tööd ja saavutatu üle võib uhkust tunda. Kaante vahele on kogutud mitmeski mõttes paremik. Siin on stiili, mustrit, värvi, õpetusi, mõtteid. Ja põhimõtteid, mis ka minu kudumaailma on omajagu avardanud."
